Apparently, Jami has been named one of the top 5 most generous celebrities! Or so it’s been reported – the Birmingham Star had this to say:
American actress Jami Gertz and baseball player Lance Berkman and his wife Cara Berkman wrapped up the other top five slots with $2.9 million and $2.1 million of donations respectively.
The top 10 charitable celebrities are:
1. Oprah Winfrey – $41 million
2. Nora Roberts – $4.45 million
3. Meryl Streep-Donald J. Gummer – $4 million
4. Jami Gertz-Tony Ressler – $2.9 million
5. Lance Berkman-Cara Berkman – $2.1 million
But of course, we already knew that, didn’t we? Congrats to Jami for the recognition, you can read the rest of the article at the link above!
Some Jami news you may have known, but is new to me, Jami’s been mentioned by several websites as being part of the on stage ensemble cast of popular “Love, Loss and What I Wore” – here’s what Off Broadway had to say:
“Love, Loss and What I Wore, an intimate collection of stories covering some of life’s most poignant moments and their corresponding wardrobe, is directed by Jenny Sullivan. The evening of vignettes, which is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Ilene Beckerman as well as personal reminiscences from the Ephrons and their friends, features a rotating cast of five actresses who share tales to which every woman can relate. The fifth installment of Love, Loss and What I Wore has two preview performances on Wednesday, September 1 with an official opening on Thursday, September 2 and will run Tuesday to Sunday through September 26, 2010. The opening night festivities will be at the Geffen Playhouse hosted by Napa Valley Grille and will feature special drinks such as “The New Black” thanks to sponsors KrolVodka, Glaceau and Malibu Family Wines. Love, Loss and What I Wore is simultaneously running off-Broadway and in Toronto where it is produced by Daryl Roth. Originally directed by Karen Carpenter, the show opened in October 2009 and is still playing to sold-out houses.”

A few days late with this but Jami’s upcoming film (unless IMDB and every other source is publishing serious typos – this might be the one to make her a household name again), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has begun filming in Hawaii according to Jerry Bruckheimer – the film also stars Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp as iconic Captain Jack Sparrow. Jami’s character’s name is Victoria Dale – will post more info as it comes in!
This isn’t the only big name sequel for Jami right now, she’s also attached to the sequels to Mission Impossible and Independence Day – maybe we’ll see a big budget comeback for someone who really deserves it!
Well Entourage episode “Murphy’s Lie” finally gets an air date, August 16th, which is very close! Will have caps and video as soon as we can, once again I’m updating from behind a proxy so everything’s twice as hard and takes twice as long – sorry for the video delay!
Jami’s also been linked to a film called Funny Boys, which nothing yet is known about, but a friend of mine on the ‘inside’ is going to try and get us the scoop – stay tuned!
