You know, I’ve about had my fill. I’m so tired of being called a liar by a forum who shall remain nameless. I just found out that back in September I was reported to my host for the claim that JamiGertz.org was the first, and only, fansite of it’s kind – which is true! I was reported because the members of this forum are arguing a point – the point being that they consider their forum to be a fansite, and that makes no sense what so ever, because while it’s a nice forum, a forum is not the same as a fansite.
I’ve tried to be a good webmiss, and have all the content I can get a hold of. This website has cost me dearly to run, and some of my wonderful, fabulous visitors have even reached into their pockets to help out with the cost of hosting ( before switching to Fan-sites ), DVDs, images, etc., just to try and make this a one-stop shop that everyone can enjoy. I do my damndest to be open to others using my images, so long as they aren’t hot linked ( to save bandwidth for my host ), my videos, and so on, and basically all I get for it is called out. If it weren’t for my amazing regular visitors, I would have thrown in the towel when this all started, because to be honest, it makes me feel like crap, especially when I’ve worked so hard and given up what little free time and spare cash I can afford to.
What irks me is that the forum admin could have come and talked to me, and I would have been all too happy to compromise so that everyone was happy – but instead I was reported.
I won’t be shutting the site down, or even stopping updates which should become more regular in 2008, but I will be a lot more weary of other Jami sites, forums, etc., because I really don’t think I can deal with this again. It’s just one thing after another, and I know you’ve all noticed it, too. I don’t mind people calling the site names, or even calling me a liar ( though I don’t really love it ), but contacting my host over semantics? Really?
At any rate, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, you are the best visitors anyone could ask for! And thanks to Troy for the DVD heads up!

Well, I’ve recieved some fun emails! Tom, who posted comments on the last update, is now slandering JGF on Steve’s forum claiming that I’m insulting Gertzaholics Anonymous! How stupid and outrageous! First of all, I haven’t ever said one single thing against the forum, in fact I’ve linked to them and even promoted them on occasion. Secondly it reflects badly on Gertzaholics Anonymous that Tom is going around pleading their case by harassing Jami Gertz Fan, it makes it look like (though I’m sure this isn’t the case) Tom is doing this because he wants to promote their forum, and weither or not they realize he’s doing it, it still looks bad for them. Read what he’s said in harassing emails below:
“You seem to be crashing a lot on jamigertz.org.It’s taking me,so far 1 hour to post a single 2 sentence message.Your capchas don’t match any professional capital or non cap format.It must explain why Gertzaholics annonymous is a much bigger site than yours.”
“I posted a warning about you on their site.”
I don’t see how which site is bigger matters, on top of that this site is a website – not a forum – and we’re in competition with no one. If they compete with us, which I don’t even think they do, then that’s their problem, not mine. This website is plenty large, I go out of my way and so do my awesome and generous visitors, to make sure we’ve got the best and most of everything we can get our hands on – I’m sure they do the same thing, it’s what makes Jami’s genre/fandom so nice and close knit. Or at least I thought it did! But I suppose every fandom has to have it’s extremist crazies, no?
As for the captcha, the code I use is a mod for my news script that I got directly from the news scripts support forum, it’s not like I wrote it myself and my visitors usually let me know when there’s a problem. This site gets, and always has gotten, plenty of comments from all our regulars and newbies alike, and you managed to comment so I don’t see the problem. Honestly, it seems like you’re just causing trouble to cause trouble, and if you keep it up you’ll alienate everyone, is that what you want?
I’m not sure what your problem is, but it’s really juvenile to harass me via email if you don’t like my site – if you like another site better, why not just go there? This seems to me like a waste of time, and it reflects badly on the site you’re justifying.
I should point out, also, that Gertzaholics Anonymous has been a dedicated and friendly forum for as long as I’ve known them, I’m a member even though I don’t post that much, and they’ve always been friendly to me. I have no reason at all to dislike them, in fact it’s the exact opposite!
